I used to hate sunsets...

Sunset is when the sun disappears below the horizon each day as the Earth rotates.
I used to hate sunset as it symbolizes an end of a beautiful day and darkness starts to creep into the night sky. I always associate darkness with sadness.

It is the same with life. When a chapter of your life closes, like an end of a relationship or a loss of a loved one or opportunity, we are left in the dark, uncertain of the next step to take. The unknown is always scary.
But,
"It's often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars." - Richard Paul Evans
Then sunrise will come after darkness. That sunrise is the start of another beautiful day. Another beginning.
All we need to do is be patient and wait as the sun rises again.
Sunset and sunrise are metaphors of life. After darkness, there will always be light. That light signifies hope.
