My siblings and I came up with this passion project months ago, even before this pandemic started. But it was never realized since the thought of starting a business is overwhelming, and no one will going to manage it anyways. Until the pandemic happened and my sister, Balang, had to go home for good in our province. So we decided to pursue this project. Ika nga,
"When 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯, 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘦."
So we made a milk tea.
𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘦𝘢?
I know for sure that if we will start a business, it will be food. I work in the food industry, Balang was a barista, Lalay is creative and good with graphic designing, and Clifford and our parents are supportive.

I also visited Taiwan, the Milk Tea Capital of the World, on 2019. I had my first ever milk tea in Taiwan and I got hooked! I saw how Taiwanese people patronize their milk tea, that every corner there are milk tea shops! Balang loves milk tea, too. So I said, why not milk tea?
We started brainstorming and research - from brand name, logo design, concept, flavors, ingredients, formulation, choosing the best black tea, etc., we did it all ourselves. We want to make our brand as community centered as possible.
Everything may not always be according to plan, especially with the logistics of raw materials and packaging materials, but overall, our venture is thriving. We are also learning as we go along.
P. S. So why the name 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘰 𝘊𝘶𝘱?

We may be anywhere in the world right now, but we will always come back to our roots. Our barrio is called Gamuton, from the Bisaya/ Surigaonon word Gamut which means root in English language. Our little barrio will always be our happy place.
